Information security is the practice of defending information from unauthorized use or access. An entire industry has sprung up around securing data and laws at the federal, state, and local levels have been enacted to secure sensitive information. Data on IT assets needs to be handled properly to ensure your company’s information and your customer’s information does not end up in the wrong hands. We understands the importance of data security and offers several options for data destruction.
When Rocycle receives IT assets, there are several options available to ensure the data on the assets is destroyed. The first option is hard drive wiping. This is the best option for re-marketable equipment. We utilize DoD standards when wiping hard drives and offer a certified wipe using Extreme Protocol Solutions software. We offer hard drive wiping onsite at your location or at our location. For more information, please click on the side tabs.
When wiping a hard drive wipe fails or your company’s protocol is drive destruction, we also offer hard drive crushing. Using an industrial grade press, the hard drive is crushed to ensure the information contained therein can no longer be accessed. Certificates of destruction are available upon request for both wiped and crushed drives. After the hard drives are crushed in our facility or onsite they are sent to another processing facility where the different components that make up the drives are separated and smelted for recycling and further data security. The drives are returned to their base components.
