Valerie Rochon, Rocycle’s CEO, has gone through HIPAA Security training. This training program teaches the do’s and don’ts of handling ePHI or electronic protected health information. Many of our clients are healthcare and veterinary facilities and we are experts at handling assets that have sensitive information. The level of data destruction is determined by our clients. We work to quickly destroy the data on any data bearing asset using DoD compliant data destruction software or physical hard drive destruction. We can issue certificates of destruction notating the make, model, serial, and size of the drives with their final disposition. We adhere to the HIPAA Security physical security standards by storing any data bearing equipment in our secure facility. Our facility has keypad access doors that only Rocycle employees have the codes to in addition to standard bolt locks, a monitored alarm system, and a live stream and recorded camera system. All visitors must wear a visitor badge and sign in and out on a visitor log which is retained for 7 years in addition to being physically escorted by a Rocycle employee at all times while inside our facility. When you recycle your healthcare facility’s electronics with Rocycle, you can be assured your client’s sensitive information is safe and secure prior to data destruction.
In Florida, we are still available to service your IT recycling and electronic recycling needs. In order to minimize our employees’ exposure, we do require that any visits for electronic purchases from the public to our warehouse are by scheduled appointments only. Any members of the public that enter our facility must wear masks. No contact outside drop offs of any electronics for recycling is encouraged.
We have been fortunate to remain open throughout the pandemic without any reduction in staff or hours. Being a small business has its advantages. Our staff is able to maintain distances of at least six feet at all times. We are resting newly received equipment before processing to ensure that any germs on the surfaces have had sufficient time to die off before handling the equipment.
We are taking steps to keep our staff and customers healthy and safe. Thank you all for your patronage and let us know when you have any electronics recycling needs.
We are a full service IT asset management company. We offer IT asset management specializing in the dispositioning of end-of-life IT assets. When assets received from businesses still have value on the secondary markets, we will process and purchase the equipment from the business. Some of our other business services are deinstallation of equipment and pack outs (prepping equipment for transport). We offer onsite and offsite electronic data destruction using DoD compliant software as well as physical destruction options. We also computer recycling and recycle obsolete or non-functioning IT assets offering free pick ups of both remarketable and obsolete equipment in and around the Tampa Bay area to both businesses and residents. We remarket the assets that still have value. We are open to the public for IT equipment purchases (PCs, laptops, monitors, servers, switches, telcom, etc.) Monday – Friday 9:30-5:30 accepting cash, business checks, credit cards, and PayPal.
It is our recommendation for businesses to quickly recycle any IT assets they are no longer using. Many companies have closets or even whole rooms designated for their old IT equipment. The longer the equipment is stored, the lower the possibility is that the equipment will still have any remarketable value by the time it is sent to an IT recycler, not to mention, it is taking up space that the business could probably put to a better use. By recycling IT assets soon after they have been deemed to be at the end of their useful life, you can maximize your ROI on that equipment. That depreciation that occurs in the IT storage closet or room can potentially mean thousands of dollars in lost revenue.
One major concern we see in this industry is data security. As businesses, we have a moral and legal obligation to protect any information about our customers. We at Rocycle understand the seriousness of data security. Our wiping software meets the DoD standards for data destruction but we go above and beyond that. We are members of NAID (National Association for Information Destruction) and following NAID guidelines, we also have processes in place to perform quality assurance double checks on each batch of hard drives wiped to ensure the wipes are successful. Wiping services are offered onsite at your place of business and offsite at our warehouse. If a company requires, we also offer the option of physical hard drive destruction both onsite and offsite. Physical hard drive destruction is punching through the hard drive using a hard drive crushing tool. This process physically damages the drive to the extent that it cannot be repaired. We currently work with financial institutions, medical facilities, and many other companies that have very sensitive data that needs to be handled quickly and correctly. We can do the same for your business.
